a 'wake' is the V shaped ripple behind a duck (or a boat)as it moves on the water.
Hope this helps. Like I said, "wish I had a photo"... ;)

It reads - last LIGHT. The last light of day.
My intention was that as the day ends (end of the duck's life), an old duck's wake (influence or wisdom) widens (is understood by those younger).

I think ...

Hope this explains it. My haiku are sometimes a bit bit cryptic, even for English natives!

I do like putting photos with haiku, but unless the photo matches EXACTLY what I want to express, I think it complicates things.
